Hi all -
I have bought the great BlueMedia 6300 from Makro (£235)
There are 4 new fixed cameras in my city since the June 2005 last update to the package!!
I have installed ActivSync from microsoft, browsed my SD card files...yet there is just one .DAT file called POI.DAT??!!
I understand the BM6300 (also named Navigon, maybe Mitac MIO 138? please confirm) reads .CSV files for POI?
please please any help so i can upload the latest POI from this site! |

Have you tried www.lowestonweb.com/destinator run by Evsham. I have used their update and it has worked fine. Do not know their source but it certainly added a number of new cameras. You may also be interesed in what the say they are working on. |

I understand you can register your BM6300 on their site, and get free updates but its the £30 you have to pay in 6months im not sure i can be bothered about!
for the sake of using poi-sync (or what other program it is) i just wondered if it was very simple. Think i'll register now anyway to get the 4 new cams in my area!!
thanks |

You can use the .csv speed camera alerts in this site. If you have the Bluemedia unit, you will need to change the Destinator Console to show the Favorites Importer icon. This can be done by opening the folder Destinator Apps then Console folder downloaded from the CD. Within the Console folder is a file called Default.ini and near the top of that you will find a line - POIImport=0 -, change the 0 to 1 and then close. You will find when you open the Console you now have the Favorites Importer icon.
I suggest for a trial you rename one of the pocketgpsworld .csv files to e.g. SolPuerto.csv (use the temp file it is smaller than the rest) or anything you choose other than the name of one of the alerts as they appear on your unit. Ignore the 2nd column in the csv file.
Ensure you select the map at both the top and bottom of the Console and also Target Device to Storage Card. Select the Favorites Importer and then the file to be imported, then convert and import.
You should now see the new file under Favorites. Compare this with the Temp cameras and if you have upgraded via you know who they should be the same.
You could then add your own cameras to the unit by deleting all records in an existing .csv and adding your own in the same format.
Best of luck and make sure you back up before any changes. |
