|
|
My first post....
OK, I've got a shinny new 700, nice I hear you say, but I run an Apple Mac in preference to Winblowz.
My first aim is to install the camera database stuff:D
Does this choice of computer mean I can't get my 700 connected?
TIA

You're OK. There's a program called TamTam (and that is spelt right) that's just for Mac users and TomTom. I don't know anything about the program, but Google will reveal all. _________________ Richard

Tam Tam is here: http://www.equinux.com/us/products/moresw/downloadtamtam.html
But you don't need it to install the cameras.
Plug in the GO with the USB lead and the GO will mount on the desktop. You can open it as a normal drive window.
Download the speed cameras from this site "UK Safety cameras" in list on left of this page. Choose the ones you need and drag them to the GO map folder.
You can also do a full backup without TamTam. Again create a backup folder on the Mac and drag all the contents of the GO to it. Job done.
The only time I need TamTam is for upgrading the software and installing maps.
You can even install a new startup screen and add/remove voices by drag and drop. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Cheers Guys.
I'll plug in the USB now and try to copy the camera stuff over.
I had a look at TamTam but...
"Please note that TamTam supports only TomTom GO and not TomTom Navigator for Palm/PDA and not TomTom GO 300, 500, 700 and mobile" |

OK I got the camera poi stuff on and it seams to work, i've set a silly warning sound, the sun is out so i'm off for a test drive.
Crap USB cable with the 700 btw i really had to ram it home to get it to connect. |

I can't see why TamTam doesn't support the 300/500/700. The go only acts as a card reader when connected and the system software is the same..... _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)
