POIwarner File Type

I was thinking about purchasing POIwarner but would like to know first which POI files it uses. Does it use OV2 or ASC files?

Where do you install the files, is it in one of the POIwarner folders, in which case can you use one set of POI files for various maps?

Any information would be appreciated.
