GPSlim236 and TTN5 (and nothing else)

I've bought myself a GPSlim236 (and very nice it is too!) - however I'm having some problems...

It works fine with TTN as a "serial GPS" on COM8 - but I can't get any other NMEA GPS software to talk to it, specifically Anquet maps (a copy of which I won at the meet last weekend) - but I've been trying all sorts of different software - JGUI's "Where Am I", and the Holux GPS Viewer itself can also not see the GPS on COM8, 38400 Baud - I just get a "Cannot open COMport" error.

From searches on here, I'm guessing this is something to do with the TomTom GPS driver built into TTN5, but I can't fathom how to fix it.

My PDA is an iPaq 2210. Can anyone help me?

You could try to re-install the previous tomtom GPS drivers 3.07?
I have not heard of this issue before.
