Hi, I'm gonna upgrade from my Classic to either a 500 or 700. I would value any opinion as to which is the better system. I use mainly in the uk but I drive over to France/Belgium 2 or 3 times a year.
Thanks in advance

Only diffrence ive seen from the TomTom Rep you resently visited us was the fact that the 700 has FULL EU mapping and comes with the Remote Control as standard.
Really depends on wether you need a full EU mapping system in my eyes.

The full EU map would be handy but I don't think I could justify the extra £80 or so. _________________ TomTomGo730 |

There are a few more 700 features that are not available on the 500:
- 2.5 GB hard-disk instead of 500's SD card - how much would the equivalent SD card cost? Useful if you want cross-border planning.
- 64MB of RAM (500 has 32MB)
+ full detailed map of Western Europe and remote control.
I think it's worth the extra £80, but it depends on what you will use it for I guess. |

Even if you buy a 500 it will cost more than £80 to buy a set of the Western Europe map CDs. And £150 for a 2GB card to put them on.
........and the maps won't be linked. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

I think you'd be better off with the 700 if you are going to use the Go in France. Even if you bought the SD card maps of France only it would cost you an additional £89.99!
I think the extras you get with the 700 for the extra money definately make it the better buy :D
