Tom Tom Leads for Car Kit

Hi,

I'm a newbie to satnav and GPS. I have a Dell Axim X30 with tom tom navigator 3 and tom tom bespoke car kit. This works very good and has no problems. My question is this: Can I replace the curly wire that powers the car kit cradle with a straight wire that will also plug into the cigarette lighter. I like things to be neat and can't hide the curly wire as well as i'd like, but i dont want to hard wire it in.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes! I've done exactly that as the wire was far too short.

I picked up a connector from www.cpc.co.uk which was long enough to reach and it works great.

Re: My first post above regarding a straight power cable to replace the curly one supplied with the tom tom car kit.

I have finally found a good one. Its from PDAmods. Here is the link:

1.2 Metre Charging Extension Cable for Tomtom Custom Mount.

I emailed a guy called Ian who told me that this can replace the original power cable. It is £14.99 plus £2.00p&p.
