4150 Cradle

Hi

I had a 4150 tomtom cradle and it gone wrong, anyhow most places don't seem to sell this now, does anyone know of anywhere with stocks?

Also in the meantime can I use a cigar lighter plus the adapter to charge direct in car without going through cradle? as don't want to blow it?

First things first - DON'T PLUG THE CRADLE CHARGING LEAD INTO THE 4150!!!

It's a straight 12V supply. The cradle regulates this down to 5V for the 4150. You need a charging lead with a 5V regulator built in.

What's the problem with the 4150 cradle?

phew thanks! thought I had better check and lucky I did!

The cradle made PDA real hot and overheated then it blew as light no longer came on.

Sent it back to TotalGPS and they crediting me as no replacments available... BUMMER!

I found one on Expansis but that cradle is out of stock too and they are waiting for stocks.

How could I power it straight from lighter for time being????

Just Google for "iPaq 4150 car charger". Some have a USB connection to the cigar lighter that also allow charging from a USB port.
