POI Warner now supports TT 5. :D

TT5 has just become a lot more bearable. First someone found a way to customize menus (discussed in another thread) and now we have decent POI detection and recording. :D |

I think I mis-read the information and confused TomTom with Mobile navigator. Sorry for the false alarm. |

I use Navigon, and that's the version for Navigon MN 5, not TomTom. |

There is a beta version that works with TT5 and it is all in German. It appears on the surface the same as the TT3 version but underneath it works very differently.
It does not integrate with TomTom in the same way as the earlier versions. It works in parallel with TT5 in that it installs a demo version of the Serinot virtual GPS driver/splitter. The Serinot virtual GPS port connects to your GPS device and TomTom and POI Warner connect to the Serinot virtual GPS port instead of the GPS device. You could connect other applications to it as well.
This means that POI Warner is reading the GPS position and the add on POI information from your file store and working out when you are near a POI from the GPS information. It does not get its information from TomTom.
I tried it out after a difficult install (only as I don't read German) and it appeared to work fine with the exception that the Serinot virtual GPS port has a 20 minute time bomb in it as it is a demo/unlicensed version. This means after 20 minutes all GPS applications on the port stop working. Not much use for navigation there. I assume the final version will have a full version of Serinot, but no doubt a licence fees will have to be paid for this addition, so a POI Warner upgrade may have a significant cost. |

The SDK for TTN v5 is not yet available hennce why integration is not currently possible. When the SDK is launched this will of course change. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I didn't know how quickly to get over there and enter my registration and transction codes from the previous version. I even went sofar as to download the setup file. Then I saw it was for an ARM processor. Only then did I read your second post!
