Posted: Fri Jul 01, 2005 9:04 am Post subject: How Do I Install TT5 On My Main Memory Card |
|
|
I would like to run TT5 from my main SD Card (1GB) to save me swapping cards when I wish to use other software. It would also prevent the nightmare scenario of potentially losing my TT5 card. I tried just copying all the files across, but TT5 won't start up because it can't find any maps. I am sure it is prob a simple solution, but I would be grateful for any help.
Thanks in advance, Bud

:D Thanks for those very detailed instructions. I followed them easily enough and now delighted to report all is safely installed on my main SD card. I can now put orig card away somewhere safe (which means of course I will never find it again :o )
Cheers for taking the time to reply,

No problem, I'm just glad I could help. I always try to install to my storage card(s) whenever I can. It does make a difference, especially where applications store their settings in the same folder they are installed to.
Another tip: I keep all my 'installable applications' as their cab files in a dedicated fodler on my CF card, along with text-files with all my registered serial numbers. So if I hard-reset when away from my PC, I can get back up and running within 30mins usually.
That CABINSTL program really makes a difference. It's my favourite application, apart from TomTom and Windows Media Player.
