|
|
Hi,
Trying to convince the wife that we might as well spend $550 on a TTG 300 and another $100+ on a UK map rather than rent a GPS unit for our 2-week hols in the UK for 120 quid.
The US version will have all of the USA pre-loaded when I only really need Northern California, but I can live with that.
Any pitfalls or more efficient alternatives that I should be aware of?
Thanks |

no, sounds good. If your budget permits (which I doubt) you could buy a larger SD card and put everything onto one card. _________________ Lutz

I thought I saw in the TomTom specs that the units come with universal power supplies. All I should need for my US version of the 300 is a conversion plug - correct? |

Make sure the plug says it will handle 110-240V. It should work okay, most adapters are built with dual voltage these days. But if it says nothing, assume it isn't dual voltage! |

Thanks Mark. I'll be sure to check the label before I blow myself up! |

If the AC adaptor being shipped with the TTG300 in the States is the same as the unit that shipped in Europe with the original TTG, it is 100 - 240V and includes a set of clip-on international adaptors. Of course, the mains adaptor is not supplied with the 300 int the UK! |
