Now you are really confusing me. The what we usually call classic, is the one sold 2004 with a couple of CDs containing different maps. Should support ASN, but without bluetooth. The classic is referred "TomTom GO" by TT, in contrast to the newer models "TomTom GO 300", "TomTom GO 500", "TomTom GO 700". The latter ones should contain bluetooth hardware and are shipped without a CD containing maps.
The word classic was coined by the community to distinguish between the "old" hardware and the "new" one as simply calling it "GO" is abiguous.
What's the model number of your unit? It's on the bottom sticker, something like 1D00.060 for the UK model of the classic.
In contrast, the "TomTom GO 300 UK" is model nr. "1D00.360".
In case you really got bluetooth working with the first Go model, this might be of interest for a lot of classic users.
Sorry, went back to see the guy who sold it to me, I have a 500, but what he meant when he sold it to me is that it is a classic compared to some other brands, in other words it is not a Classic, but according to the salesman it is a classic, like a mk 11 jag.
Once again, you are able to puzzle me. Either you are the first here that reports to be the proud owner of a true, live and real GO 500 or you have a GO 300 instead. I have not heared of anybody with a "GO 500" till now. This is supposed to be "available soon".
The GO 300 should dial the Plus service happily.
Please do us the favor, turn the GO upside down, note the modell number on the sticker and post it here. It really depends on what you have.
I would not consider the "TomTom GO Product line" a classic in the sense of "has been proven great in the past and is still top of the line, even after this long time" (like a VW-Golf). Not that the GO failed in being great, but the entire GO line is about a year old, so I would rather consider it as "must have, hot new gadget". The "Garmin" products could more easily get the attribute "classic", as this company is in the GPS business "for ages" now, but then again, their C3x0 seies is even newer then the GO line.
