Hi

I am new to sat nav so need some advice here Smile

I have just bought a dell axim x50v and need some help to choose the reciver for it and car mount .

I am in the uk and was looking at the Globalsat BT-338 is this good for the dell pda?

Also is the blue tooth easy to set up with this and will i be best getting tomtom5 software for this?

Then i think it is just the car mount OH and a sd card will 256 mb be ok for the software?

Sorry for all the questions but never even seen sat nav in action before it is baffeling how it all works .

Hope you can help

Thanks shane

welcome to the boards.
I use exactly that combo, the Axim in itself is great, the 338 is awesome and Tomtom is the ideal partner.
I get all my maps on a 256 card

Thanks for that m8 Smile

Where did you get your bt338 from and which car mount do you use with charge leads?

There seems so much choice i can only seem to go by recomendations from people who have tryed the goods and been happy with them:)

Was it easy to setup bluetooth on the unit?

Thanks shane

I bought the 338 from ebay, someone called vitasystems, seemed OK.
I use a standard Arkon screen suction mount and charge the pda from the cig lighter socket. That was what I used on previous setup (2210 and fortuna clipon)
I may check out some other powered mounts though now you have suggested it!

BT setup can always be tricky but its perfect once you sort it out!
