I think it is now very apparent why the upgrade was delayed. TT couldn't get their product to function at the basic level with widely used hardware options i.e obtaining and maintaining sattelite fixes, allowing PDA's to charge their batteries etc. etc.

In desparation they have again released an undeveloped product and left their loyal customers to pick up the pieces. I only hope that they do issue fixes, as they have in the past, rather than allow their support team to make stupid remarks concerning what TT do and don't support. Their support is to us their customers, period.

Prior to release, I believe the Pocket GPS World Team (for whom I have the greatest respect and gratitude for this great site and help etc) were involved in beta testing. Is anybody able to comment whether the current problems were encountered at the time?

Is there any insight as to whether these problems will be fixed Question Question Question

We're obviously restricted in what we can discuss with regard to Beta's. I can say that a number of issues were identified and fixed. TomTom to their credit are quick to acknowledge problems and proactive in resolving them.

I have the release version and have had no problems at all on my XDAII, h2210, h3970 and a Mitac Mio. I appreciate that some users have had issues and am certain that these will be resolved.

Thanks Darren.

That was the type of reply which I hoped my post would prompt.

I am now, as they say, cautiously optimistic that the product will be speedily (hopefully) rectified. In your opinion, should my optimism include a functioning EMTAC GPSJACKET with TT5.

Thanks again.

It should, indeed I have one some place which I'll dust off and try.

Hi Darren

Does Outlook Contacts integration work on your 3970?

Thanks

I must admit I rarely use it, I don't have the 3970 to hand right now but will test tomorrow.

Darren

Are you able to navigate to or find in map view, a UK petrol station and/or a cash machine from the TT built in POI on any of your devices with the standard release version of TTN5?

Regard

Sooty
