I've been happily using Nav 3 on my 2210 with a 'paired' Rikaline GPS 6031-x7 receiver. I've upgraded to Nav 5 but cannot make a connection to the GPA receiver. When I start up Nav 5 it remains in mono colour and states 'No GPS device!'. I've opened 'show GPS status' and clicked 'configure', then selected 'other bluetooth GPS'. My device is paired with the GPS receiver so I selected 'continue' at this screen. I then selected 'bluetooth serial portCOM8 (I've aslos tried COM5), which takes me back to the 'GPS status' screen but I'm still getting 'No GPS device'.

I've tried the above sequence a number of times and have also done so by first making a connection with the GPS receiver via bluetooth manager. Nothing I try allows a GPS receiver connection with Nav

Please can anyone advise.

I had the same problem with my non TomTom bluetooth GPS but i gotit working. This same fixed worked for friends having the same problem.

Click the bluetooth icon at the bottom and choose bluetooth settings.
Go to services tab.
Select serial port.
Untick everything apart from "enable service"

Now pair your deveice, go to gps config and choose other bluetooth and serial port as you have been doing.
This time it should find it.

As i say, it worked for me and several others. Your mileage may vary.

Looked at settings but all was as you suggested.

I'm not convinced that the upgrade application disc is installing Tomtom GPS to my programmes file. It's like tomtom isn't even looking for a GPS receiver.

This is so frustrating when Nav 3 was working perfectly.

Anyother tips gratefully accepted !

Ensure you have a Bluetooth connection between your PDA and your GPS device.

In TomTom get to the GPS setup
Change Preferences, fourth page
Show GPS settings.
Configure.

Select Other Cable NMEA GPS (I know, forget common sense)
Select the GPS Baud Rate of 4800, select Done.
A list of possible connections is displayed
One should have your BT device name on Com something.
Select that.

This worked for me.

This solution was posted here in another thread.
