Help with 2210 and BT GR 230

I have a 2210 with Gr 230 BT, but cannot get regular connections using TT5. Once a connection is made, all works well and I can turn on and off the 2210, soft reset etc. But once I switch the BT off and the 2210 leave for a few miniutes, it can be very difficult to get a GPS connection again. I have to keep turning the 2210 on and off and soft resetting. These are my settings.
BT RegTweak set to automatic background
TomTom bluetooth support not removed
Other Cable NMEA GPS - set to baud rate 38400
Connected to Bluetooth Serial Port Com8

Can anyone plaese help or should I buy a TT BT GPS

Forgot to add
At the GPS Staus Screen is says at the top "No valid GPS signal", but is showing several grey bars
Also on the TT5 main screen, it says "The GPS signal was lost 1.10 mins ago" for example.

Anyone got any ideas how to resolve?
