Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this problem. I decided to use a 512Mb SD Card with my TonTom Go 300, just so I could have a lot of free space should I decide to add any more information to it.
Howeve, I found that it made my machine respond slow
Sometimes it looses the map of my journey and sort of 'spins' everything around for a second or so before regaining the original route. Also it seems to misjudge distances - usually saying that there is about 20 yards still to go, when I have actually reached the turn off.
I have definitely transerred all of the files onto the card, so my only thoughts are that the larger size took a little longer for the TomTom to access 8O
I put the original SD Card back into the TomTom and all was back to normal.
Has anyone else tried a 512Md card and experienced similar problems?
Thanks,
Gary |

Hi Bud... I use 512mb cards all the time and haven't noticed any problems. It could be down to the brand of SD card you are using as some perform with TT better than others.... Cheers, Dave |

It's not just a case of buying a larger card, you need to make sure that the card you are buying has a fast read write speed. This can make a real difference and is sometimes why you see cards of the same size costing vastly different prices - check the specs for the card and if it is a poorly rated card, chances are this is the problem. |

My TTG300 does what you describe sometimes too. Strangely though, I'm running the original card!! Bit worrying........

Are you seeing the effect of loosing a signal?
I've noticed the map spins sometimes when I go under bridges etc.
All returns to normal within seconds when signal returns. |

This is a common problem, V5 was supposed to have fixed this but never did.I've experienced this since my go was new(about 6 months) but just accept it as its not a major problem. _________________ Ray

That is what ASN is supposed to avoid happening. There is just enough loss of signal for TTG to be uncertain of location. _________________ Richard
