Hello Guys
I have been reading this website and forums for several weeks now and over that period have decided on a setup for my in-car GPS system. Today I took delivery of a Globalsat bt338. Currently I have no mapping software though Tom Tom Navigator 5 is on order. I paired up the GPS receiver and Ipaq h2210 no probs but running the GPSinfo programme provided with the receiver I keep gettin the message "$PSRF....OK" followed by "Write...Error".

I have downloaded and run SirfDemo and when set in NMEA mode the debug screen shows the scrolling data. It is only when I switch to Sirf mode that the satellites are visible with good signals and lat and long displayed. Is that how it should be?

Sorry for my long post but my question basically is whether the GPS info programme on the Ipaq will only show the satellites etc when in this mode and that the Ipaq is unable to communicate in this way. Or, is there something incorrect with my setup.....I have tried everything I can think of including taking out the battery, trying every com port on the Ipaq etc etc. On the 2210 the bluetooth com port is 4. I have tried every combination of com port and Baud rate all to no avail.

So....second (or is it third or fourth) question is.....should I wait until the navigator software arrives so that hopefully that will detect and use the NMEA data which I know is being fired out of the receiver.

Hoping someone out there can help me.

Many thanks,

Andrew
