HP IPAQ 2210 system or NAVMAN icn610

Hi, I already own a HP IPAQ 2210 which has a cf & sd card slot. I love this IPAQ its great. BUT I ned an sat nav system for a trip to FRANCE so my question is .. Do I buy one of the systems that uses my IPAQ or a stand alone system like the NAVMAN icn 610.
I dont know anything at all about sat nav so would really appreciate your advice.

I know that if I use the ipq I will need software a receiver and a cradle but as to which I hv no idea so again would appreciate your assistance.

The navmn one is about 289 so that my budget for either system.

p.s. i am driving to le touque in france so a system that takes french maps would be good.
My car is a vauxhall meriva so again the system should also fit this car.
