Setup:
Toshiba e740
Rikaline 6030
TT2 (latest build)
Unfortunately I have an issue. The problem is that the setup is so unpredictable and unreliable.
Sometimes it will find 8 sats in about 10 sec, other times (95% of the time) it will find none.
When I open up the GPS screen in TT2, I can often see 1or 2 grey bars, sometimes as many as 8 grey bars, but rarely will they turn "red" and get a lock.
I am unsure as to what it could be, the PDA, the GPS, or even the software.
Is there any way of narrowing it down? I was hoping to buy TT5 through the upgrade path soon for a trip to Europe, but I am told that TT5 won't work with Toshiba's. A bit odd as I thought the o/s was the same for all PDA's?
Any help would ensure what little I have of my hair left remains in place
Thanks. |

No help to offer I'm afraid, but more of a "I feel your pain" message!
My system is completely different to yours - Ipaq 2210 with wired cradle and TT3 but I still get hard to pin down faults where it just won't find any satellites and on other days when it works completely fine...
It's a mystery to me too!

Your description of the issue suggest the problem lies with reception. This could be a problem with the GPS Receiver or possibly a reception issue caused by the location of the receiver or your vehicle itself.
You could try testing outside of the vehicle to eliminate this as a cause. _________________ Darren Griffin |
