Hi all,
Probs been said before but can anyone tell me why my map is behind my location??? i.e if I pass a road my map is about 10 or 20 yards behind??
I am using an ipaq 3970 with a BT77 reciever and running tt3. It was fine when I had the navman jacket with the map on a flash card. Is it maybe my sd card that is the problem or maybe the baud rate???
Some of you guys must know this one :D

Cheers all,
Jim.

Hi,

Not familiar with the chipset in your particular receiver but this can be a symptom of selecting the incorrect GPS protocol at some stage (thinking particularly of Sirf here). I am not aware of whether or not your unit is Sirf capable, however.

Try setting it to NMEA 4800 on the appropriate COM port. If you have experimented with different protocols, it may be necessary to reset the unit back to factory default to be able to use NMEA.

Alternatively, slow accesss to data could be an issue - have you installed the TT program onto your SD card by any chance?

Steve

The only thing thats on the sd card is the uk map, do some sd cards run faster than others?

Cheers Jim.

Hi,

Yes they do but I had wondered if you had perhaps had the TT program itself installed on a SD card that may be slow and was causing the delay.

Have you ensured that your GPS port is set to NMEA 4800 (or 9600) and ticked the box to set it? If you have Sirf capability and have selected it at any time, your receiver may be locked to Sirf - some receivers have been known to lock to Sirf and it takes some shaking off!
