I have an Ipaq 5550, I have decided on the Fortuna Clip on GPS reciever.

After reading the Co Pilot 5 review by GPS World I thought this was the one for me, I then read some of the reader reviews and am now very undecided.

Should I wait for the new Tom Tom 5?

I am not in a position to purchase something and 2 months latter buy something else because it wasnt right in the first place. I am prepared to save and buy the best I can afford but it must be reliable and fit for its purpose.

This is all very new to me I try and read all the information possible before purchasing, however there is no substitute for first hand advice from people who have used this equipment.

So I hope you will read this and find time to reply

Thanks

John

Hi wayj,

The Fortuna Clip-On is a good Bluetooth GPS receiver, the current best one is the GlobalSat BT338. I have both and have found that the GlobalSat is incredible.

It’s down to personal choice as far as SatNav software is concerned. I prefer TomTom. TTNav 3 is good but the map data is a little old now (no M6 Toll road, etc). TTNav 5 will have much more up-to-date maps. The GUI of both versions of TTNav is easy to use and learn even if you’re not used to SatNav software.

Regards,
