Hi All....Not sure if anyone can help. my friend has imported an American Chrysler US spec fitted with factory sat nav 8O which I believe is Alpine sourced based, can anyone here advise assist in suppling uk mapping info?. He is at his wits end the manufacturers of course dont want to help .Ohh he will pay!!!!!! |

He won't have much luck anyhow. Those systems are proprietary, and it will be close to impossible to get european maps for a US car. Tell him to look for a PDA or PNA solution _________________ Lutz

It might be worth checking with Navteq. They sell map CD's for a range of OEM and after market systems.

I'm very surprised that you cannot order the UK CD as a replacement part from a dealer.
What model is the car, is the same unit fitted to UK versions even if its a different car.
There are many Americans who work in the UK and bring their cars with them, I am sure that the different dealers would supply them with the correct parts.
Try a dealer next to an American airbase. |
