Has anyone else noticed that us UK customers are being ripped off again? I've just notice that UK customers have to pay 69 Euros for the service whilst users in Belgium & the Netherlands only have to pay 39 Euro'
http://www.tomtom.com/plus/services/safetyCameras.php
I'd be interested to hear how TomTom justify they price difference, I bet it will be something along the lines of... 'the UK Camera DB has far more cameras than other countries' |

Does anyone know how the TomTom DB compares to the downloadable one on this site (which has seemed really rather good to me so far)?
Cheers

I don't know anyone who's paid for it! It's also encrypted to the device it is downloaded to so cannot be copied or inspected. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I wonder how many suppliers are ripping off the free camera database from this site? _________________ Gone fishing! |

Plenty offer it bundled with hardware which is a moot point. The ones I'm more pi**ed off with are the scumbags on eBay who sell it _________________ Darren Griffin

It doesn't end there, have you seen how much TT are charging for Traffic - 59.95 euros for the UK compared to 39.95 for Germany and 29.95 for Italy/France/Belgium/Netherlands!!! |

Perhaps it's because we have twice the amount of road works and 10 times the amount of speed cameras than the the rest of Europe, that the cost is so much more? |

Just to clarify, I didn't intend to infer that TomTom (or any other supplier) are actually selling the PocketGPS database as their own, I was just wondering out loud if anyone does it...
Maybe we should add a few speed cameras in "interesting" locations and see how many other databases they appear in? _________________ Gone fishing! |

Yup, it's ours alright. They sell our safety camera database, our custom GO voice files and even the POI files contributed by users _________________ Darren Griffin |

I think this has gone a little off topic.
I think it needs to be said again that no one is saying that tomtom are resusing this database and selling it only that certain £$%&^kers on ebay are.
Would be interested in how accurate it is - wonder if any go users have downloaded it?
