Hi,
Silly question I think................ but here goes!!!!!!!!!
Just downloaded sprite software and have completed a back-up. If i do a hard reset to test it will the sprite software still be there to do a restore?
I guess the sprite software is somehow saved to ROM?
Cheers. |

You can set Sprite to save the backup as an .exe file to a Storage Card. This means that even after a hard reset you just use File Explorer to find the .exe file and then run it. Assuming you've set Sprite to back up everything (zipped .exe, of course!) then you'll get everything back. _________________ Tim |

Hi
No, you will need to reinstall Sprite backup to do the restore.
Alternatively, there is an option in Sprite backup to create a self restoring exe. The exe contains your full backup plus a small sprite restore stub (not the full sprite software) but it's enough to get your system back working.

I'm a little confussed!!
Whats the point of "Backup" software if you have to reinstall it after a hard reset.
If I reinstall the Sprite software will it automatically find your back-up information???????? |

Forgetting the idea of restoring from SD card. Is this what I would need to do after a hard reset.
1 - Run the Sprite software from my PC and install onto the PDA via activ-sync.
2 - Then access restore function on the PDA.
I assume that the backed-up info would then be re-installed on the PDA??
If this is not correct can someone please send me a step by step guide

Do you have an iPAQ? If so, you can install it to the iPAQ Filestore. This area isn't erased by a hard reset, but it is if you update the ROM. As mentioned earlier, the solution I use is to back everything to the SD card as a zipped .exe file. This will resore everything, including your copy of Sprite, if you installed it to Main Memory. _________________ Tim |

Is there some confusion here between SBU and SBU Premium Edition?because the later can restore everything that was on the PPC from an .exe file saved on a storage card! See Here So make sure you get the Premium Edition ..I have been using this for nearly a year and can highly recommend it

You don't need premium edition to create .exe's - I can do them with the standard edition. |
