|
Hi,
I have just attempted to activate my TT Nav maps of Europe and get a message
"............is a correct product code for TomTom Map 2005 Western Europe Add-on.
This product can no longer be activated."
Can anyone help.
I am using TomTom Navigator for Palm OS.
Thanks |

I would suggest you take this up with TomTom support. Either someone has stolen your activation code, or you have activated the product on two different Palms already (you haven't, right?) _________________ Lutz

Thanks for the response.
The maps are a new purchase from supertrader.co.uk. Just received them in the post today. |

I tried to call, you can only leave a message, recorded message suggests that I email, which I have. As yet I haven't received a reply.
I wasn't sure whether it was a known issue or not.
Thanks again. |

it has now been about 16hours since my email to superetrader. I haven't even had an acknowledgement.
So much for their claim to respond within 30 minutes.
I am not very impressed!!!! |

This looks similar to the discussion in this thread: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=20313
You can send e-mail to TomTom Customer support and they will exchange your product code. Unfortunately, they may not answer until Tuesday due to public holidays in Holland. |

Thanks for the heads-up. Yes, it sounds like they mixed up versions when issuing the activation key, ignoring the fact that older maps can still be purchased. Let's hope this gets sorted quickly. _________________ Lutz

Thanks for the replies, I will email TomTom straight away.
Having looked closure I note that the product code implies that I have 2005 version of maps. I thought the 2005 maps would be released with the Navigator 5 update.
Am I guessing correctly that this is the problem, I have a 2005 code on a previous version of the software.
Thanks again for all your help. |

I presume you bought still old maps as the new maps of Western Europe have not been released yet. You can check your map version number in the Great_Britain.pna file; if it's 398, then these are the maps from the previous release before 2005.
They probabaly already locked the wrong codes in the database after the problem had been identified, so you get the statement that the map can't be activated anymore. |
