Hi all

I have this device, couldn't get it working with tomtom on my smartphone but then used CruxView and changed from SiRF to NMEA - now all is great - however!.... I switched it off and left it for a few days, tried again and it wouldn't work. I'd noticed it had gone back to SiRF mode

questions i have (hopefully you guys can answer a few of them)

1) Does it reset to SiRF after a few days without use?
2) Does a reset using CruxView reset the device to factory defaults?
3) Can i have the default on reset to be NMEA and not SiRF?

Hope you can help, i'm off to london next week and was need this working otherwise i will definitely get lost! But i don't have any smartphone software to change from SiRF to NMEA incase of disaster while i'm away?

Help appreciated as always!

I have the same problem, if its the same as mine it was supplied as part of the Kane GPS system, Kane supplied EMTAC units that defaulted to Sirf mode.

I am having exactly the same problem with TTN 5 on my iMate JAM and yes my EMtac was originally bundles with Kane. Has anyone found a solution to permanently changing the default startup mode to NMEA rather than SiRF?

Workaround so far is to use either GPSTweak or CruxView to change it over before I launch TomTom Navigato 5.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

David
