I recently upgraded my Navman 510 to Service Pack 1. The following are my before and after software versions. I don’t know which line reflects the upgrade; someone may want to compare their versions. Look in the menu under “About”.

Before..Version v3.00.0027 English v3.01.0003 Core:T-core-v1-16-0029
After..Version v3.00.1008 English v3.01.1000 Core:T-core-v1-16-0039

So what did Service Pack 1 do for me? Nothing noticeable, except perhaps the maps now move faster and smoother when dragged with the stylus. However the morning after the upgrade I had lost all Microsoft and Adobe products from my laptop. It may have just been a coincidence, but I’m one of hundreds in a network and only I have suffered from lost applications. Anyone else had this experience? Should I risk using Navman software again? “Active sync” is not a normal application on my network. Could it be the culprit or was it just bad karma.

Hi,

The 'After..Version v3.00.1008 English v3.01.1000 Core:T-core-v1-16-0039 ' is the latest version.

It is always a good idea to apply the latest Service Packs as they are released to correct bugs in the software and to improve functionality although not always noticeable.

SP1, amongst other things, improves detail regarding the current road name on the bottom of the 3d screen, improves stability of custom POI's and improves house number search functionality.
See here for full details.

As for losing applications, that must be a pure coincidence unless something went wrong with ActiveSync as I have never heard of applications disappearing before.
