CheckPOInt, TTN3 and XDA2i - freezing with phone on

Hello

I have just set up my XDA2i, with TTN3, wired GPS and Checkpoint, plus the POIplace db of speedcameras

After some intial freezes and lots of trial and error it appears that freezing is caused only when the phone is on (ie flight mode is off)

I have tried various combinations and I can get TTN3 and chekpoint to work fine only if the flight mode is on, as soon as I turn flight mode off ( ie the phone back on) the machine freezes within maybe 50m of driving

Anyone experienced this? Any ideas?
