Having been converted from the all in one GPS/PDA route by Darrens good point about just putting the bluetooth unit in your pocket (and the fact that it adds another dimension to the "are you just pleased to see me" gag Smile ) in another thread :

http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=20540

I find I have a few more questions than I did when I was just deciding between the Acer and Medion.

Which is the best software to choose. I know its a bit open ended and down to personal tastes, but how does Copilot compare to Tomtom 5?

Has anyone here used the Dell X50, and what software does it use? Looking on their site it doesn't resemble any pics of any of the GPS programs I've seen elsewhere.

TIA

Have a link for the Dell with its navigation program?

Link Here

The one thing I don't like about the Dell site is the way they put the spec and price on the first pages.

Dell AximTM X50 Bluetooth™ GPS
Intel® XScaleTM Processor up to 624MHz

From: £337

Which at first sounds excellent value. But when you actually go to configure it the base CPU is actually 400mhz, and the 624mhz is actually another £111. So by the end, what started off as £337, its actually over £600

The software is an Intellinav clone, like iGuidancePrymenav/Routis. Good software for beginners, very easy to use.

Thanks for the help Smile

Not so sure I'll be getting the Dell

A) because its a bit pricey
B) because there isn't any info on what the GPS unit is

About five minutes after I posted that I realised that I had missed the text link above, which takes you to half a dozen different x50 configurations Smile

Take the GPS away and it does become a more attractive offer.
