I'm new to this forum and I'm in the process of deciding what sat nav device to buy. I like the look of the Navman 510, but it seems to get mixed reviews on this forum. Any advice on this model would be helpful. Thanks.

Hi there Jasp,

i too am looking for a good all round sat nav device, and am swayed between the ICN 510 and the new TomTom go '300'.

Plus points for the ICN 510 are:

Good compact size - easily fits in your pocket!
Touch screen - for complete ease of use.
Comes with the base roads of Europe as standard.
Has excellent reviews!

Plus points on the New TOMTOM GO 300 series.

Full poscode search!! - as opposed to the ICN's 5 digit setup.
Full London congestion Zone aviodance feature - the 510 does'nt have a full aviodance zone setup yet.
Again touch screen - same as the ICN 510.
Better sound volume than the 510 - but then the 'Go' is a slightly bigger unit!
Again excellent reviews!

I guess its all personal preference, and what your going to use the unit for.

I must say i was going to purchase the ICN 510, but for around the same price the NEW tomtom Go 300 has the edge. It has a lot more features than the ICN 510, again all down to preference.
There both great machines, and far cheaper than the £2000 odd pound factory fitted systen i once had in my new Jaguar!!

Hope this advice helps some ! Laughing
