Does anyone know why the last three visual display bars on the "Screen Brightness" adjustment sliding scale are red? There doesn't appear to be any difference in the screen appearance between seven green bars or seven green bars plus three red bars.

Well the question makes sense to me!!!

Makes sense to me too!!

I too am curious Confused - have experimented with it tentatively but cautious in case the red means 'don't do this!' However, like you it does not seem to make any difference to the brightness at the top of the green or the top of the red. Anyone got a definitive answer Question

The last 3 bars of the screen brightness on the 510 means that it will get hotter in those settings. Also will use more of the battery. I don't go that high, only up to the red and stop.

Seriously Question What's the point of having the last three bars then Question

Anyway, my unit is always plugged in to the car power so no worry about battery and from now on I'll go up to but not into the red. Wink

What do the last three red bars represent when adjusting the screen brightness using the + and - buttons on my iCN510? There doesn't appear to be any diference in the screen brightness with or without the red bars showing.

and here is their reply!

Is it me. Was I expecting too much in the way of communication skills?

Oh God - not Ryan!!! I've had a few brief and completely useless responses from him. The guy is pretty useless and just gives pat answers that don't actually get to the problem.
