Apologies if there's an answer to this on the forum somewhere, but I have tried searching to no avail.
I've a UK T-Mobile MDA3, running Win Mobile 2003 SE (vers 4.21.1088), and TomTom Navigator 3.07T, with the TomTom Bluetooth GPS receiver. UK maps are on a 512MB SD card.
I'm having great difficulty getting a reliable Bluetooth connection. When it's connected, the link is 100% stable. However, getting the thing to connect is driving me nuts! I haven't yet found a reliable sequence of "turning things on" events.
Most reliable method I've found is: turn on TomTom GPS (blue flashing light), then turn on MDA bluetooth, then go to Bluetooth Manager, select TomTom GPS, "Connect". This works about 20% of the time, but *only* if when done driving, you carry out the sequence: Close TomTom Navigator; turn off MDA's Bluetooth; turn off TomTom GPS unit.
This is clunky to say the least, and just not reliable - sometimes it takes 7 or 8 goes, and a soft reset before it will connect. When it won't, the error message is always "Unable to establish a connection. Please make sure the device is enabled and in range. Also verify that the requested service is available".
I've tried 3 MDA III's (we use 'em at work) and I'm on my second TomTom GPS. All the same.
