Brodit Mount in 03 Astra

Hi

I've just spent all morning trying to install my shiny new Brodit Mount, and am not getting anywhere. It's the 652597 Centre Mount for a 2003 Vauxhall Astra. http://w3.easytrade.net/brodit_shop/product.dip?item=628522&fid=1221059

I can get the gap open next to the dashboard no trouble, and it seems like it will slot in there okay, but I can't figure out how it is supposed to attach to the gap next to the air vent. Just can't physically force it in, and I'm sure that Brodit wouldn't be relying purely on the adhesive to hold it in place.

Anyone else fitted one of these? Any suggestions where I might be going wrong gratefully received ...

Looking at the instructions and not having an Astra it's difficult to get a mental image of how this fits but it doesn't appear to require any additional fixing points other then the dash gap and the adhesive?

I have a number of Brodit mounts of different types in my Discovery and two of them rely on a single clip point and the 3M adhesive. None have come adrift.

Sorted it now - brute force and ignorance won the day.

Doesn't use the adhesive to, er, adhere. Or at least, it doesn't now Laughing
