In roughly the same way as on the PC except you use simply press and hold the stylus at the location and then select add POI. You might want to set up a new POI category first (such as Favourites) you do this in Parameters under the File Menu |

Tried as you say worked first time. Could you also tell me how to export speed camera and postcode info to pda tried to convert to .sac and hotsync says not a palm file type and quick install just goes through install process and leaves file still on pc without installing it. |

To add these you will need v2.5 of Mapsonic which included POIManager
I described the way to incorporate the speed camera data in a previous post (http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=14058). This was written before the restructuring with different directories but still works fine, the files you want are in the .ov2 directory or if you want the speed zoned ones then use the .ov2 and .bmp (you'll still need to resize these as described) files in that directory. You cannot change the warning sounds within Mapsonic. Not sure on the postcode data but the principle is the same.
Hope that helps. Also you may find dedicated Mapsonic Forum more useful as this Palm one seems to have a greater focus on TomTom |

Thanks I have now got a bit further I have been able to download the icons for the speed cameras to mapsonic and can see them using the the "type of POI". have been able to hotsync the POI files using POI Manager (checked the log no problem reported) but I cannot see them on screen when using mapsonic (have panned across map nothing displayed) does this only work when using GPS on the road.
Thanks Dave
PS looked at Mapsonic forum found it empty unless I looked a wrong one. |
