Hello all,
I'm 'brand new' here and I wonder if any of you can help me. Question
I've just bought a second hand toshiba e330 pda and was interested in getting tomtom for it.
I've looked through the forum a bit and found out that it seems that people have mixed fortunes with this combination. Question
I just need some advice on wether it is compatible and what other equipment I need to get (gps receiver etc).
Also if you could recommened the parts I would be very greatful.
Thanks for reading hOOter.........

Hooter

I also have a Tosh' e330. I have been using this with Tom Tom Navigator 3 for a while now and have pretty-much got it figured out (I may live to regret that remark).

I bought the 'wired' solution from http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk/ and it seems to work fine.

I bought a 256 Mb SD card so I could load additional POI files and also use it for backup (vital).

Sometimes if you ask Tom Tom to do too much it can totally crash the PDA so it is important to create a backup before you use it. You will need to do a total re-boot to clear the crash. This involves 'switching off' the device (using the little 'hidden' switch on the bottom) and doing a 'restore' of all your data and settings.

It can sometimes find it difficult to find satellites, but I've found if you unplug the power source and plug it back in, it seems to re-boot the GPS receiver and it then gets you hooked up.

If you need any tips or advice, I tend to test mine quite regularly to learn all it little quirks and may have the answer.

It's not a trouble-free relationship, but it works for me!

Thanks for the speedy reply howardr,
Will the newer versions of tomtom work or will navigator 3 be the last one to work on the pda.

I'm afraid I have no idea - I'll have to find out when TTN5 is released.
