Driving Instructor help wanted

hi im new to this forum and im a driving instructor wanting a in-car navigation kit. ive looked at a navman 610, but was wanting to know if its possible to input a route from a to b using specific streets and roads. i know the whole idea of gps is to get you to a location asap but i would want to plan a route at home then have it relay the exact route in the car such as a test route. bit long winded but can anyone confirm if the 610 can do this?
