iCN 610 unlock

I have the British Isles on my 610,and it also came with the maps for most of Europe on cd.

Can I unlock the French one,without cost,as I'm off to France in August,or is there another map that would be compatible with the 610?

No, you will have to pay to unlock your extra maps and AFAIK no other software or maps are compatible with the Navman iCNs. However, you should be able to install the European Basemap, which comprises major roads, onto your device. This will at least get you close to your destination.

From the Navman Desktop click Maps>Basemap. Unless you've deleted some regions that you don't use then you won't get the whole of the British Isles and the basemap onto a 128Mb storage card.

Thanks for that Tim.Maybe I'll have to fork out some more cash before August then.

After doing the speed camera database the other night,I seem to recall the basemap is still there for Europe,and as I don't envisage going to Northern Ireland,I'm wondering if I erase this,if I'll be able to get the European basemap on? (Certainly the French portion of it.)

How far in relation to zoom,will the basemap go then? I'm off to Brittany in August, (Plymouth to Roscoff) then returning to Portsmouth via Caen,and intended to have a look at the beaches in Normandy,and the surrounding area,so will I need to purchase better detailed maps,or will the basemap do?
