WAAS and EGNOS

I did a search on this forum for my question, but the information I found didnt quite answer my questions, so here goes:

I know that EGNOS is the european equivalent of WAAS. I am intersted a Holux CF GPS device for use in the US. The device is built for use with EGNOS. So my questions are:
1. If the unit is built to work with EGNOS, will it work with WAAS?
2. If it does, will the unit automatically "know" to use WAAS in the US?
3. Also, will accuracy be affected in using WAAS instead of EGNOS?

1. yes
2. yes, kind of. In the eastern US you may catch a EGNOS sat, but generally the closest sats will be used. Remember, those are geostationary as opposed to the GPS sats
3. no, same level of accuracy (1 to 3 m)
