Need some of your expertise as been trying to look for a solution but difficult to find here...guess too many posts to go through :P
I have installed some software, games etc such as tomtom 3 on my PDA and worked fine....but never used it for a while something like a couple of weeks or so...when switched it on, shocked to see the software and games disappearing from my PDA like they are wiped and formatted...why it happened? I was told by someone that software on PDA will be gone if the battery was flat so need to be recharged all time to avoid them being lost. Im not sure abt that. Could someone please clarify this? How could I stop that happening again next time? is there any settings to solve it?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks |

You are likely to lose everything from program memory if your battery goes dead. By far the safest option is to buy Sprite Backup and make your backup copy on a storage card. If under backup options you select "Create self-restoring Backup Files" you can quickly get everything back once you have recharged your battery

Hello mannjaz
Most if not all PDA's will loose all of the data that you have added to them if the battery goes flat, this is the same as a hard reset, the data you load to them is held on a memory chip that needs power to retain the data.
As mentioned in the post above by Robin the best solution to this is to use Sprite Backup, but you can use ActiveSync to backup your PDA, this only takes a few minutes and you can then restore it from that backup if you have lost the data again.
All that is required is to connect to your main pc via ActiveSync and then select from the Tools menu Backup, select FULL Backup and then click the
Back Up Now button.
If you need to restore it at any time in the future then you need to recharge your PDA, then set the Regional settings and Time on your PDA before doing the Restore via ActiveSync, if you do not set the Regional settings then it will not restore as it would report that the file was wrong. |
