Palm M515 + Magellan Companion + Tom Tom software

I have the Magellan GPS unit for my Palm M515 along with the Tom Tom
Route & City maps software that came bundled with it.

It works great over here in the UK but 2 years ago i went to the
Vendee in France for my annual leave, but was unable to find the local
city map for the area i was staying in.

Again this year i am off to France, Royan to be more precise. Royan is
about 90 mins drive from Bordeaux. again i am unable to find the city
map covering Royan. BUT i can find the Bordeaux map?

does anybody know if Tom Tom have updated their maps from version 2 or
is there a product out there that will provide better service?
