I am about to buy a dedicated GPS device but after spending the last 3 days trawling for information i am now more baffled than when i first started. 8O

I have narrowed my search down to a posible 4 choices (or more if anyone can recommend a better option) and hope someone here could give me advice on the one that's right for me.

my choices are as follows Arrow

1. Garmin quest

2. Navman icn510

3. Mio 269

4. Tomtom Go

I have read numerous reviews on these items and I have seen many contrasting views.

I require the unit to not only work in the uk but I am also keen on taking it abroad on holidays so Europe and Usa maps are needed.

In the end the decision is down to you, GO is the most popular for good reason. It is extremely simple to use and does its job well. It does not have a myriad of extra features. Anyone can pick it up and use it without recourse to a manual.

The Navman iCN510 runs a close second. I don't rate the Mio's Navigon based software, and the Garmin Quest whilst a worthy option has a small non-touch screen and is less intuitive then all the rest.

The newly announced GO models are well worth a look with the 700 containing detailed pan-European maps as standard. The cheaper 300 and 500 have major roads of Europe with detailed UK mapping.
