Hi folks

I am sick and tired of reloading TT3 and all the associated software every week as my 2210 still freezes on a regular basis and I have to remove the battery for a few hours to clear the memory. It never used to do it and I have not dropped it at all. It seems every time I use TT and I remember to exit everything and turn off the PDA stopping all "Running Programmes" it will be fine when restarting. However when I occasionally forget to go into control panel and do the latter Im knackered when I come to use it again. I always keep it charged in the car or at home in the cradle.

Have I got a rogue 2210 or is this something thats commonplace with this model/SysonChip CF Card/SD Card?

I am considering purchasing another PDA as its now doing my head in. What is the current best buy - bearing in mind that I am not Rockafella - and also bearing in mind that I have the SysonChip CF GPS and a few SD cards that I dont want to scrap.

check the rom on your PDA is 1.10. Click on start, settings, system, asset viewer, version

Also you can use the bttom right button with the black arrow, press that and that will give you a list off all application runing and you can easily turn them all of by tapping and holding on one of them and select stop all.

You should not have to take the battery out ever, simple press of the reset button at the bottom left below the battery cover should reboot the PDA.

Hi Steven

Thanks for the reply>-

ROM is 1.10.07 ENG dated 3/1/04

As for the black arrow - cant seem to see that

When the PDA crashes neither a warm reset or full reset will do antthing as the whole of the PDA is frozen

Dave

its the physical button on the lower right of the PDA. It does sound like PDA could be faulty, have you contacted HP on 08708422339 1,3,6

Great - I found the button

As regards HP - dunno if Im covered as foolishly I bought the 2210 from Ebay as new and refurbished about 9 months ago. As I said in original post - it didnt used to do this whne I first had it and works perfectly fine until it freezes about every 2 weeks. Could it be the SD Card or the Sys on Chip GPS?

Is it worth upgrading to a higher spec PDA and which one would you recommend?

Dave

Have you tried a CF Card for maps? That resolves all of the crashes when using BT GPS with a 2210.

FWIW I use a 2210, BT GPS, maps on CF and it's rock solid. Maps on Sd and I get lock ups and software crashes.

yeah is strange you are getting this problem. We used to sell thousands of these packages, the 2210 was the most popular PDA for its time.

I'm very happy with the Fortuna Cip-On, in fact I have two units. However the new GlobalSat BT-338 looks very nice!! ;)

I use Kingston 1000Mb CF cards in my iPAQ 2210, I've had no problems with that combination. I got the card from Valueflash.

Regards,
