Hi all, I hope you can help me out here ... I have just got myself a new TomTom Go and am very happy with it. However, full post codes to identify locations are important to me and it seems TomTom only accepts 5 digits which is not much help. I have searched the forum and found references to Post Codes data bases that can be down loaded but where are these to be found.
Thanks for your help .. Roger |

Hi,
OK thanks I've got it but there is a problem (suprise suprise). I've installed a couple of areas (Midlands and S.Central) but each only seems to contain a limited number of codes with huge areas missing. Any ideas anybody.

Tim says on his web site:
Quote: | The postcode you are looking for may not be in the file you are expecting e.g. Swindon codes are in the S_Central file, not the SW. Surrey codes are in the SE & London file |

Hi there,
OK OK so I'm new to these things, all that was wrong was that, being used to a blindingly fast PC, I was not waiting long enough for TomTomGo to find the Post Code I was searching for. By default it only shows those closest to you but they are all in there somewhere.
Interestly after I ran a google search it found another thread dealing with an identicle 'problem' to mine which pointed out the error of my ways (no patience). Also there is additional information there on how to use Post Codes. The Thread was ... North West postcodes ttg. Maybe in the Post Code download zip file it would help if there was a 'read me' with a few user hints!
Thanks, great forum.
