Question Can any body Help Me!!! I have Just purchased a Mitac Mio 168 with Co Pilot 5 Live when I set it up it was with the TTS option Male voice, Bit agrovating so I changed it to Female Wav all ok but on POIs how do you get the Warning Gatso wav to work, the wav file I can see is in the pocket mio in co pilot wavs but how do you get it to work as a warning for that event all I get is a ding dong and warning gatso in writing on the screen I'm aware the the wav does not give you street names etc but what are the speed camera, speed limit, red light wavs for ?also the the bitmap images with the speed camera download that came with the package, Totally confused.

Dear Banana Fingers,

I sympathise totally with your predicament...I used to use the synthesised voice in CoPilot, but was having no end of problems because the POIs and GATSOs were only announced intermittently, often not at all depending on the mood an inclination of the announcer!

Two days ago I switched to the lady wave files and, like you, have found that the only warning you get of a GATSO is a generic "ping" from the Mio, although it's shown clearly on the screen.

So, if you have other POIs activated, you get an never-ending series of airport-like "pings" which require you to take your eyes off the road and look at the screen to ascertain whether it's a GATSO, a filling station or whatever.

Perhaps the safest solution is to activate ONLY GATSOs in the POI selection so that you know that any ping = GATSO.

Incidentally, I have found CoPilot to be more stable since using the wave files, and there seems to be a consensus of opinion that the synthesised voice causes more lock-ups and general instability.
