|

Does anyone know if it it is possible to reflash the BT Emtac. The reason for asking is that there are two versions of the unit, one which defaults to EMEA mode, and the one supplied by Kane that defaults to Sirf mode, guess which one I have.
Now that Kane have gone bust there's no way have getting my BT GPS updated. Before you all say I can change the mode easily, yes I can but when the battery dies it defaults to Sirf mode again.

It's certainly possible to reflash your GPS - though whether it's possible for the end user is in doubt. I know Fortuna have allowed some user flashing of Bluetooth GPSes, but it's a rather involved process and they seemed, in the end, to head towards 'dealer only' flashing.
What do Emtac themselves say?
