TOM TOM software problem

I am being asked for a device number when from tomtom software. I am trying to install on a dell axim x5 can anyone help?

The Product Key is on the CD Case that came with TomTom Navigator. If you don't have an original copy then we can't help.

No i have the product key but not the device no? i take it thats something to do with the x5

The device number appears on screen when you install TomTom, it is this plus the product key that gives you your unique unlock key.

Be aware that if this product has been installed and the key used previously then you may not be able to activate it as TomTom limit the number of activations on different hardware devices. And you won't be able to apply for any discounted upgrade to future versions without the original CD.

If you're being asked to activate manually, you should have the Device Code on screen.

Go to www.ttcode.com and enter the Product Code. On the next screen, you'll be shown any Device Codes that have already been activated with that Product Code - if the Device Code showing is one of those, click on them for the Activation Code.

If not, you'll need to enter the Device Code to get an Activation Code. If there's no way to enter a Device Code, you've had all the activations with that Product Code allowed at this time - you need to wait until you're allowed another activation. (My recent experience is that ttcode.com no longer tells you how long you have to wait, but I believe the waits are still seven days after the first activation to activate a second device, and 180 days after any subsequent activation of a new device to activate a further new device).
