This is my worst purchase to date I'm sad to say; I purchased the latest version 5.0.1.30 and it is terrible - It constantly causes my XDA ii to 'hang' requiring soft resets (approx every minute), it never mentions POI's and the detour buttons on the itenary don't work at all!!

I have written to ALK ststing that their software does not work as described and unless they refund my money I will take them to court!

Avoid at all cost!!

I did consider the sd card but have tried 2 and they are both the same (128MB and 256mb) the rom version is the latest from O2 1.72 I think,

thanks for replying

There are known problems with the XDA2 and there is a patch available on the ALK website that cures this to my knowledge.

Unfortunately the patch on the website is for an earlier version of the software and not mine :-(

I would contact ALK then because AFAIK the XDA2 patch should be included in the latest build release. If it's not they will need to investigate this and build it into the latest release.

Unfortunately I don't have access to an XDA2 or the latest build to be able to test this.

I also think it is a problem with the text to speach on the XDA - I am now using WAV files and things have improved; maybe this is a bug?
