Hi, 3 questions if you don't mind,

1/ I have at present a BT receiver which I am giving up on and going wired, what I would like to know is I use an external aerial at the moment but are there any wired gps receivers that are weather proof to place on the outside of the vehicle so I can cut out using the aerial just to save on lighter sockets crammed under my dashboard.

2/ I use a Seidio powered mount, when I go wired does the wired receiver plug into the mount using what looks like a RJ11 socket and do all wired receivers use a standard conection.

3/ I use Navman but would like to change to TT3 so I can use the camera database, if I buy TT Navigator with the wired receiver will I still be able to use Navman software if need be or would I be better off buying TT3 on its own and going for a different receiver ( is there a receiver that stands head and shoulders above anything else).

Erm... Sorry I know thats more than 3 questions but any help gratefully received. Thanks Mark. (using a 2210)

There has been at least one weatherproof wired GPS - Haicom have produced one.

There is no single standard for wired GPSes. Various different manufacturers have used 6 pin mini-DIN (PS/2 style), RJ11 and proprietary connectors. If you want to use one manufacturer's GPS with another cable or cradle, you should check carefully that the two are compatible - getting it wrong could destroy the GPS.

I'll have to leave the last of your questions to someone that has Navman experience.
