Are there any (free) downloads out there that I can use with TTN4.4 (came with my HP iPaq 1710 bundle) to give me a full UK postcode database?
Some software looks really good but I haven't seen any for TTN4.4.
Thanks! |

For now you will have to use the individual OV2 files. The next version will have integrated post codes. _________________ Lutz

Thanks Lutz. I've downloaded the OV2 files for the postcodes I'm particularly interested in but there isn't enough memory availalbe on the SD card. Can still make them work if the files are stored in the iPaq's memory?
PS. I've just been looking at your voice warnings - looks good. |

uh- bad idea. The memory is very limited on that model. Get a bigger card, or remove some of the voices you don't need. _________________ Lutz

That sounds like good advice but (please be patient with me) I've gone through the TomTom programme three times trying to delete the voices I don't want (by selecting "Delete" and "Yes" I'm sure) then closing TomTom, but they all reappear!
I can't find the individual files via file explorer.
Please help again... |

on the storage card in the \tomtom folder you have pairs of VIF and CHK files
open the VIF files with Notepad, they contain links to the name of the voice and the DATAxx.CHK file that contains the vioce. If you don't need that you can delete the pair.
Do NOT touch DATA.CHK !!! _________________ Lutz

That's brilliant, took a while to work it out, but brilliant.
Thanks Lutz :D |
