I'm very new to sat nav, but ok on pc's so you don't have to be too basic. Smile

Anyway , I have an XDAII with tomtom 2 and a Haicom receiver, but the nav will stop running every 20 mins or so. I have updated to 2.24 and it's the same with or without checkpoint running.

I was also interested in the TMC topic but still not sure from what you say if I can get this on my XDAII?

All the latest ROM upgrades on the XDAII?

Infrared disabled?

No keyboard driver?

What TomTom GPS driver version?

TomTom 2.24 is a tad old - if you want traffic (TMC over GPRS) you need TTN3.07T

Unfortunately the upgrade deal from TomTom Navigator 2 to TomTom Navigator 3 (which does support Traffic - TMC over GPRS for which you have to pay a subscription to TomTom) has now closed.

There's likely to be a new version of Navigator announced within the next few months - though whether there'll be an upgrade from Navigator 2 is unclear. Only Navigator 2 owners could upgrade to Navigator 3; Navigator 1 owners could only upgrade by purchasing Navigator 3 retail.

thanks for your replies.
It's a company XDA and I didn't like to mess it up too much. It won't work at all if the Infra red is active cos it's a wired receiver.
The GPS driver is version 2
It looks like i'm gonna have to buy TT3. I think they've solved this problem with the latest update, also the maps on 2 are out of date (No M6 toll road and Birmingham centre has completely changed!).

it seems to be better now i've removed active o2 from the start up so nothing else is running.
It doesn't crash but still seems a little slow ie, it says there is 300 yards to turn off when you are just going past it! Can be frustrating!
I saw a similar post recommending changing the input setting to NAEM 4800, would anyone recommand that setting for a wired Haicom receiver or keep it set to Haicom.
Also is it possible to install Tomtom3 maps to Tomtom2?

Also lbendlin advised me to update the rom, where would I find this? I've looked on o2 site but couldn't see it.

First you need to go to Start, Settings, System, then tap on Device Information.
This will show you what the Rom Version is etc.
The latest and final release is 1.72.00WWE.
I believe you stated in a previous post that it is a Company Supplied XDX 2 in which case you need to check with them that you can upgrade.

You are one version behind. If you go www.o2.co.uk you may need to register, then follow the XDA II links it will take you to the software down load section.

my ROM version is 1.03.00 USA, but nothing listed for extROM.

My XDA's performance on TomTom has improved alot since replacing the SDcard. Incidently, how do you defrag an SD card?
